When we think of children, we normally picture cheerful, lively youngsters running around aimlessly. Children with congenital heart disease, however, are frequently ill, and even with a little exercise could easily tire them out. Many of them, too, are living day by day in the face of uncertain futures. Thus, as we take every opportunity to help these children, we consider every grin to be just as precious. Here are some of the brave tales of our little heroes.
7 years old

9 Months old
Ramadhani was born small and didn’t gain much weight. She slept a lot, and we thought she was just calm, but she was actually tired because her heart was working too hard. Her breathing was
fast, but we didn’t realize it was a sign.

2 years old
During my pregnancy, everything was normal, and my daughter was born healthy. However, on the third day after her birth, my husband and I were informed that she had a heart problem. Since birth, she had been admitted to the NICU due to sepsis. Initially, we were told that she had one large hole in her heart, but we would need to wait for an appointment at the government hospital for a more thorough examination.

11 Years Old
My son has Tetralogy of Fallot with absent pulmonary valve syndrome. His first surgery was performed at IJN when he was 10 months old. However, the doctors explained that the artificial valve would need to be replaced as he grows.

She has been diagnosed with multiple heart issues, including TGA, DORV, and VSD. We cannot fully describe her condition yet because we don’t know exactly what is happening until the doctors explain it to us.

My son was diagnosed with a hole in his heart and a narrowed heart valve.

Before the surgery, my daughter’s condition was very worrying. When her oxygen levels were around 75% or lower, her lips and nails would turn blue due to a lack of oxygen.

Before the TOF correction surgery, Raisha’s oxygen range were between 75-85%. When she walked or played, she would get tired quickly, and her skin would turn blue. She also had a poor appetite

3 Years Old
Before the surgery, our child would get tired very easily. His lips and nails were blue.

12 Years old
Before the surgery, my child was less active, often felt tired, frequently experienced headaches, and had slow breathing.

7 Years old
My son was less active and often experienced bluish discoloration. He could not walk more than 20 steps as he became easily tired, and his breathing was fast. In addition, he had a poor appetite and experienced difficulty with breastfeeding.

1 Years Old
Since the surgery, he has been healthy and no longer experiences any breathing problems or blue-black discoloration.
